Compare: Baremetrics
Baremetrics alternative for SaaS teams that buy ads, with Baremetrics pricing and competitors
Baremetrics is a solid subscription analytics tool. It reads Stripe, Braintree, Chargebee, Recurly, the App Store and Google Play, and turns billing events into MRR, ARR, churn, LTV and about 28 other subscription metrics. For a SaaS company that grows on paid acquisition, it answers half the question: what the revenue did. Its integration list has no ad platform, so it cannot tell you what that revenue cost to acquire.
Read-only connectors, blended truth, no PII exposure

MixedMetrics starts from the other side. It reads Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and GA4 next to Stripe and Shopify, read-only, and computes blended CAC, LTV:CAC, MER and blended ROAS against the revenue your billing system recorded, from $79 a month.
Below is an honest comparison, including the jobs where Baremetrics or ChartMogul is the better buy, the published Baremetrics price at every ARR band with its two paid add-ons, and the other subscription analytics tools worth a look.
The short answer
The best Baremetrics alternative depends on the gap you are filling. If you need acquisition cost next to revenue, pick a tool that reads ad spend, because Baremetrics connects billing and accounting systems but no ad platform: MixedMetrics computes blended CAC and LTV:CAC from Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and Stripe from $79 a month. If you only want cheaper MRR and churn reporting, ChartMogul is free up to $10K MRR and ProfitWell Metrics is free.
Baremetrics is a subscription analytics and revenue recovery product for SaaS finance and founders: it explains MRR, churn and forecasts from billing data. MixedMetrics is a marketing and revenue dashboard: it puts every ad dollar against the revenue Stripe actually collected, so the CAC and payback numbers a growth budget runs on are computed, not pasted in.
Side by side
Baremetrics vs MixedMetrics, honestly
A fair look at what each does well. Both can show you marketing numbers. Here is where they differ.
| What matters | MixedMetrics | Baremetrics |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend from Google, Meta and TikTok | Read-only connectors pull spend from every ad account automatically | No ad platform in the integration list; spend has to be added by hand or through the API |
| Blended CAC and LTV:CAC | Computed on connect from total ad spend and new paying customers | LTV is calculated from billing data; the acquisition cost side needs spend data Baremetrics does not collect |
| MRR, ARR and churn | Aggregated Stripe MRR and revenue next to spend | A core strength: about 28 subscription metrics including MRR movements, churn, upgrades and downgrades |
| Entry price | $79 a month for 5 connected sources and 1 dashboard, or $39 a month billed yearly | Launch from $49 a month for up to $360K ARR and a single billing integration |
| What the price scales with | Connected sources and seats: 15 sources and 3 seats at $199, unlimited sources and 10 seats at $449 | Your ARR: Growth from $189 a month at $360K to $3.6M ARR, Scale from $749 above $3.6M |
| Failed payment recovery and cancellation surveys | Not offered; we report on revenue, we do not collect it | Payment Recovery and Cancellation Insights at $129 a month each |
| Forecasting and scenario planning | Not offered | Forecasting on Growth; scenario planning and budget tracking on Scale |
| Shopify store revenue | Shopify orders sit next to Stripe, for brands that sell both ways | Shopify is listed for app partners billing through Shopify, not for store order revenue |
| AI layer | AI insights and spend-leak alerts from Growth at $199 | Not part of the published plan list |
| Can you buy it today? | Yes, monthly from $79 or yearly from $468 | Yes, with a free trial and up to 35 percent off on annual plans |

In depth
Baremetrics pricing, its blind spot, and the honest alternative
How much does Baremetrics cost?
Baremetrics prices on your annual recurring revenue. Launch starts at $49 a month for companies from $0 to $360K ARR and includes a single billing integration, subscription analytics, trial insights, automated email reports, segments, data enrichment and chat support. Growth starts at $189 a month for $360K to $3.6M ARR, allows two integrations, and adds custom dashboards, unlimited segmentation, benchmarks, goal tracking, advanced exports and the Slack and Intercom integrations. Scale starts at $749 a month above $3.6M ARR and adds unlimited integrations, scenario planning, budget and expense tracking, the analytics API and a dedicated support rep. Annual plans come with up to a 35 percent discount, and there is a build-your-own option.
Two add-ons work on any plan: Payment Recovery at $129 a month, which chases failed card payments and comes with a guarantee that it recovers more than your Baremetrics bill or the next month is free, and Cancellation Insights at $129 a month for churn surveys and follow-up emails. A company at $1M ARR on Growth with both add-ons pays from $447 a month before any annual discount.
MixedMetrics does not price on revenue. Starter is $79 a month for 5 connected sources, Growth is $199 for 15 sources, 3 seats, unlimited dashboards and the AI insight layer, and Scale is $449 for unlimited sources and 10 seats. Yearly billing halves each of those. Your bill stays the same when ARR doubles, which matters most to the fast-growing companies that spend the most on ads.
Can Baremetrics calculate CAC?
Not from your ad accounts. Customer acquisition cost is sales and marketing spend divided by new customers, and Baremetrics knows the customers precisely because it reads every Stripe subscription. What it does not read is spend: its integration list covers Stripe, Braintree, Chargebee, Recurly, the App Store, Google Play, QuickBooks, Xero and a universal connector, with no Google Ads, Meta Ads or TikTok Ads. To show CAC you would push spend in yourself through the API or a CSV every month.
That manual step is where SaaS CAC numbers usually go wrong. Spend gets entered late, one ad account gets missed, and the platform-reported numbers include conversions the other networks also claim. A blended figure built from every ad account against new paying customers in Stripe is harder to argue with. Our customer acquisition cost calculator shows the formula, and the SaaS marketing metrics dashboard is the version that runs on live data.
Baremetrics vs ChartMogul vs ProfitWell
These three are the usual shortlist for subscription analytics, and they split mostly on price. ProfitWell Metrics, now part of Paddle, is free and connects to Stripe, Chargebee, Braintree, Zuora, Recurly and Paddle. ChartMogul is free until $10K MRR, then sells Starter from $69 a month ($57 billed annually) for small teams with one billing system and up to 3 team members, and Pro from $119 a month ($99 annually) with unlimited team members and advanced exports. Both paid plans step up as ARR grows, to $849 and $1,439 a month at the top of the range below $10M ARR, and Enterprise starts at $19,900 a year. Annual billing saves about 17 percent.
Baremetrics sits between them on price and is the only one of the three that bundles payment recovery and cancellation surveys as products of its own. If your churn problem is involuntary, from expired and declined cards, that bundle is worth paying for. If your question is where new revenue comes from and what it costs, none of the three answers it, because none of them reads your ad accounts. That is the gap a revenue analytics dashboard that joins spend and billing is built for.
What Baremetrics does that MixedMetrics does not
Baremetrics is the deeper tool on subscription mechanics. It breaks MRR into new, expansion, contraction, churn and reactivation, tracks trial behavior, segments customers with enriched company data, forecasts revenue and burn, and recovers failed payments. MixedMetrics reads aggregated Stripe MRR and revenue so it can sit next to spend; it does not do MRR movement analysis, dunning, cancellation surveys or financial forecasting, and it is not trying to.
Plenty of SaaS teams run both: Baremetrics or ChartMogul as the finance view of the subscription base, and MixedMetrics as the growth view that says which channels bring paying customers in at a cost the LTV can carry. If you only buy one, choose by the question your Monday meeting actually argues about. If it is churn, buy a subscription analytics tool. If it is whether to raise the Meta budget, you need spend and revenue on the same screen, and our LTV to CAC ratio guide covers what a healthy number looks like for a subscription business.
