Northbeam vs Triple Whale pricing

Northbeam vs Triple Whale pricing by store size and ad spend

Northbeam and Triple Whale end up on the same shortlist because both promise to tell a Shopify brand which ads actually drive sales. They do not charge the same way. Triple Whale sets your price from your annual gross merchandise value (GMV) and the package you pick. Northbeam sets it from your ad spend tier and then adjusts it by the pageviews your site produces, which is why its page says plans "start at" a figure.

Figures are illustrative. Your own stack connects read-only.

So a straight price list does not answer the question a buyer has, which is what each one will cost my brand. Below we price both at three store sizes, $2 million, $8 million and $18 million in annual revenue, with the ad spend assumption stated so you can redo the math for your own numbers. Every figure comes from northbeam.io/pricing and triplewhale.com/pricing.

We also say plainly where neither tool is the right first purchase. If what you need this month is one honest number for whether total ad spend is paying back, that is blended ROAS and MER, and it does not need an attribution contract.

The short answer

Triple Whale is the cheaper of the two at almost every store size. Triple Whale prices on annual GMV: Foundation costs $549 a month for a store doing $1 million to $2.5 million a year, $1,529 at $8 million and $2,529 at $18 million, and a Free plan stays free. Northbeam prices on ad spend and pageviews: Starter starts at $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, Professional at $3,500 a month up to $500,000 a month of spend, and Growth and Enterprise are quoted. Northbeam costs more because it sells deeper multi-touch attribution with Apex conversion enrichment; Triple Whale sells a broader Shopify operating suite with Moby AI.

Why it works

What you get with Northbeam vs Triple Whale pricing

01

Two different meters

Triple Whale charges on annual GMV and package. Northbeam charges on your ad spend tier and then on pageviews, so two brands with the same revenue can get different Northbeam quotes. Know which number each vendor will ask you for before the first call.

02

Price follows the depth of attribution

Northbeam is a dedicated multi-touch attribution product with Apex, which feeds enriched conversions back to ad platforms. Triple Whale bundles attribution with BI dashboards, Moby AI agents and email tools. Paying more for Northbeam only makes sense if attribution depth is the problem you are solving.

03

Blended numbers come first

Before either contract, most brands need total ad spend set against the revenue Shopify and Stripe actually recorded. That is blended ROAS, blended CAC and MER, it costs a fraction of either tool, and it tells you whether an attribution budget is worth spending at all.

Northbeam vs Triple Whale pricing questions, answered

Is Northbeam more expensive than Triple Whale?

Yes, at every store size we priced. A $2 million brand pays $549 a month on Triple Whale Foundation and at least $1,500 on Northbeam Starter, close to three times as much. At $8 million the gap is $1,529 against at least $3,500. Triple Whale Automate, its upper self-serve package, still costs less than Northbeam Professional at $8 million and only passes it near $18 million, at $4,199 against a $3,500 starting rate.

The gap is wider than the sticker suggests because Triple Whale knocks two months off for annual prepay, while Northbeam publishes a starting monthly rate that moves up with pageviews. For the attribution product alone, Northbeam is the premium buy. Our Northbeam pricing breakdown covers what each of its tiers includes.

How does Northbeam pricing work?

Northbeam sorts you into a tier by ad spend, then sets the actual monthly rate from the volume of data your business produces, measured in pageviews. Starter starts at $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads. Professional starts at $3,500 a month for spend up to $500,000 a month. Enterprise covers spend above that, and Northbeam recommends it once you pass $250,000 a month.

There is also a Growth plan for seven-figure brands under $200,000 a month of spend that bundles Northbeam attribution, dashboards and the Northbeam MCP with media buying support from a partner agency. It is quoted. Each tier also lists up to $50,000 to $200,000 in ad credits from Northbeam ad platform partners, which is a real offset for brands that would spend on those channels anyway.

How much does Triple Whale cost per month?

Triple Whale prices Foundation and Automate on your annual GMV bracket. In the brackets we priced, Foundation runs from $219 a month at the smallest bracket to $549 at $1 million to $2.5 million, $1,529 at $8 million and $2,529 at $18 million. Automate is $1,349, $2,899 and $4,199 at those same three sizes. Enterprise is quoted. The Free plan costs nothing and has no commitment.

Paid packages are 12-month subscriptions, billed monthly or annually with two months free, and annual prepay locks your bracket for the year even if you grow through it. If you grow on monthly billing, Triple Whale moves you to the next bracket and tells you in advance. Every paid plan includes unlimited users and as many stores as you need. The Triple Whale alternative page lists cheaper routes at each size.

Which is better for a Shopify brand doing $2 million a year?

For most brands at $2 million, Triple Whale Foundation, or the free plan first. Northbeam Starter at $1,500 a month is $18,000 a year before pageview adjustments, which is roughly 0.9 percent of revenue for attribution alone. That only pays back if better attribution moves a large ad budget, and at about $500,000 a year of spend there is limited budget to reallocate.

Northbeam starts to earn its premium when ad spend is large, spread across several channels, and you need conversion signals fed back to Meta and Google through Apex. Our breakdown of Shopify analytics pricing for a $2M brand puts Triple Whale, Polar, Northbeam and profit apps side by side at this exact size.

Does Northbeam or Triple Whale have a free trial?

Triple Whale has a Free plan rather than a trial: one view of paid, owned and organic performance, the Triple Pixel with first-click and last-click attribution, and Moby to ask questions. Multi-touch attribution, dashboards and segments need Foundation. Northbeam lists no free plan or trial; every tier goes through sales.

If you want to see blended ROAS and MER on your own data before a sales call with either vendor, MixedMetrics connects read-only to Shopify, Stripe, Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and GA4 the same day, self-serve.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Northbeam and Triple Whale?

Yes, depending on the job. For a Shopify suite like Triple Whale, Polar Analytics Core is $720 a month under $5 million GMV and cheaper than Triple Whale Foundation from $2.5 million to $20 million; see our Polar Analytics pricing table. For click-level tracking sold on revenue, Hyros starts at $69 a month; our Hyros pricing page has its ladder.

If the question is simply whether marketing pays back across every channel, MixedMetrics costs $79 a month on Starter, $199 on Growth with AI leak alerts, and $449 on Scale, or $39, $99 and $224 a month billed yearly, at any GMV and any ad spend. It is attribution-lite, not multi-touch attribution, and we say so: it will not replace a pixel or Apex. It shows blended ROAS, blended CAC and MER against the revenue your store recorded, which is the number both of these tools are ultimately trying to improve.

Good questions

Questions about Northbeam vs Triple Whale pricing

Northbeam Starter starts at $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, and Professional starts at $3,500 a month for spend up to $500,000 a month. Growth and Enterprise are quoted. The actual rate is set by the pageviews your site produces, so the published prices are starting points.
Triple Whale Foundation costs $549 a month for a store doing $1 million to $2.5 million a year, $1,529 at $8 million and $2,529 at $18 million, from $219 at the smallest bracket. Automate costs $1,349 to $4,199 in the same brackets. The Free plan is free, and annual prepay takes two months off.
Only if attribution depth is your bottleneck and your ad budget is big enough for better allocation to pay back the difference, usually several hundred thousand dollars a month across multiple channels. Below that, Triple Whale Foundation covers multi-touch attribution for well under half the price.
Yes for paid plans. Foundation, Automate and Enterprise are 12-month subscriptions that you can pay monthly or annually, and annual prepay gives two months free and locks your GMV bracket. The Free plan has no commitment.
Northbeam estimates your monthly rate from the volume of data your business generates, measured in pageviews, because more data costs more to process. Until it has learned your traffic, the tier price is a starting estimate, so a high-traffic store can pay more than the published figure.
